You're not the only one accused of having issues. I get it from my other half on a regular basis. She knows if I'm on the computer, it's probably on SRP. We're all in the same boat.

Thanked: 1195It's tough to say what I get in crap for the most, the shaving related purchases or the excessive time on SRP
It's probably a tie.

If you can, have them sent to your workplace. Otherwise, I did very well renting a PO Box from the Post Office for $48 a year....
Seem extreme? Try answering to your wife after you have 40 odd razors and dozens of soaps and cream - never mind hones and brushes....

Wow When I saw your post I thought perhaps I put it up there myself and forgot about it. LOL, I share your pain buddy but no worries it is a healthy addiction. Like someone before me said, Wifey's scrutiny is only a reaction to the loss of attention. They don't get it, My wife asked me " Why can't I get the same shave from one razor?"

Thanked: 234You don't have a problem, you have a hobby.
The best thing I ever did was become objective in my choice of razor. I still buy razors I know I won't keep, because I think I can make them shavers and sell or trade them.
I had planned from the off to get a 7 day set together, and I'm not there yet - not by a long way.Last edited by gregs656; 06-05-2009 at 04:03 PM.

And then you have wives like me, who if not encouraging RAD, isn't helping by saying "Let's go antique store hopping" And then wonder why there is always just one more razor/hone/soap that the hubby really just "has to have"

At least they're small
My wife is just pleased that I've started collecting these, and it distracts me from collecting old British & European motorcycles and assorted parts. She complains much less about the 50 or so razors lying around than she does the 7 bikes in the garage.
I've always received my care packages at the office. I'll never forget the look on the office mail guy's face when he delivered a Norton gas tank to my desk.

I have three things that have helped me and help keep peace around the homestead:
- I traded one hobby for another. I used to be a Coffeegeek, sold my equipment and used the money to have a great time spending and buying more than I needed in razor related stuff.
- When the money ran out
I sold virtually all my old vinyl records on the bay after being realistic about how they didn't mean as much to me as they used to and my musical tastes had since changed. Amazing what some would pay for albums.
- When that money ran out
, well this can be a self supporting hobby. Finding vintage razors and related items and selling those you don't want to keep on Ebay can replenish the Paypal account.
The problem is, the longer I'm in this hobby the faster that Paypal account gets depleted!
