Wife says I have a problem . . .
My wife and I came home this afternoon to find a USPS package at the door. My wife, being first, handed it to me saying jokingly, "What is it another razor?".
Ahemm. . . . I can not tell my wife a lie; "Yes it is".
She looked at me with raised eye brows (like Mr. Spock of the original Star Trek), mixed pitiful laughter, "You have a serious problem!" She replied.
Serious? Problem?
Okay, my inventory:
1. DOVO 6/8 Best Q w/ kit (I am returning to SR shaving), my work horse.
2. Some 4/8 Solingen Germany eBay - Great little chin finisher- $13
3. WWII Henckels wedge smile, needs scales - need to send it to one of you - $35
4. Henckel's Twin - 4/8 eBay - GREAT shaver, love it (just under $100).
5. Boker Edelweiss 5/8 ebay - Great shave - under 50$
6. Boker Red INjun 5/8 ebay - The one that drew the comment - shave ready off a Nakayama #8 ? - will shave with it tommorrow.
I am answering my own question, but economically speaking (Hone I bought), it beats the commercial market . . .right?
Just between us, I have one space left in the second toothbrush stand !

To be honest she is right. We all do have a problem. As long as we don't use money to buy some bad stuff (drugs etc)we all should be ok.straight razor is investment. you buy DD 3 YEARS ago for 60 now you can sell DD FOR 300. you'r making money.Good luck enjoy with straight shaving and don't get mad. You are not alone.

Unfortunately I get the same look when things come for me in the mail. Then I bring up the point that at least I am enjoying a nice, unharmful hobby, when I could be doing something else like drinking at the bar all night or buying pornography with all my money, etc. Then she smiles and nods that it's okay....
......Well until the next time.
I am now suffering from HAD as well as RAD and SCAD...ugh.
I think the HAD may be the worst of them all..

Thanked: 1195Hey, I hear you man! My wife has two attitudes when it comes to my SR addiction; grudging acceptance and out-right negativity Well, to be fair she usually keeps pretty quiet (at least until the dreaded next package arrives from the post office), but she can't seem to wrap her head around the idea that I (and the rest of you) could be so obsessed over "grooming".
She does gush over the nice close shaves though, so go figure!
I think I sense a poll coming over this................

Problem? Heck, When I started I went so overboard in time and spending that I was just about to start flipping through the yellow pages to find the local 12 step program for razor related illness (only semi-joking). Seriously though, it was foolish and selfish on my part to spend untold hours on the PC rather than interacting with my wife. She resented that rather than being about the razors. Thankfully I've tempered things......a bit. She would rather have me here than at the bar or some such thing.
Exactly.
