    Default Venus Razors?

Came accross a website that sells straight razors (even wholesale) for around $50! So I was wondering if anyone have ever heard of this company: Straight Razor | Straight Razors

I sharpened one of these a few months ago, just to see if it could even be done... I managed to get an edge out of it, but I would by no means ever reccomend these razors....

Well, for $50 you could get at least half a dozen Zeepk razors, and probably have enough money left over for a Zeepk strop! The Venus razor is not on SRP's do not buy list but I suspect that is an oversight.

The concept of a titanium coating is rather suspect. I highly doubt that this is a razor that is worth buying. However, if you do buy it, I will gladly hone it for you for free, as I would love to evaluate it for myself!

I find it rather amusing that the site has a link to part of Lynn's honing video. Maybe somehow they think that adds legitimacy.

Did it hold an edge? Was it shave-able? Would you consider this to be something to add to the "do not buy" list?

Ron: I did just what yer doing, somebody was given one as a gift, and I offered to hone it for free, just to see if I could... I shaved the razor, it shaved, I would put it in the DA class of shave, not good but servicable... The guy who owned it shaved it also and but he never posted as to how long the edge lasted....

At that price point though it is crazy to buy one for not much more yer in a new Dovo and for the same or less yer in prime vintage territory
