Default making a female friend enthusiast

    Hello there!

I'm trying to make a female friend straight-razor enthusiast but I'd like to know some pro's and con's about leg shaving with a straight. Can somebody help me out on this particular subject, please? I'm shaving my beard with a straight for about 2 years now but I have no experience with leg shaving.

What my friend told me is that she saves her legs in 2 minutes with a Gillette Why must time always be the main argument

Get her with the beauty of those razors.
A nice pair of scales, a sharp and shiny blade ....

    i know what ya mean.
    pros,
    Lots of great custom smells,
quality soaps instead of lard churned out of factories.
if she has irritation it could help.
if shes just into the whole bathroom spa time pampering thing this will add too it.
    there cool looking.
    they can be convo starter.
long term MAJOR savings over modern cartridges, especially if she uses multi blade cartridges

cons: a little more time needed for prep.
requires more of an initial investment, but you get it back within a couple months of not buying cartridges.

only one i can think of.
pretty much all the same reasons you shave with a straight is why she should. its just better
*try just getting her a brush and some girly soap. shes sure to love that style lather over the other.

+1 on all the above and Olivia's Razor beauty comment. All I can add is there is just something relaxing about lathering and the feeling of absolute smooth when you are done.

CarrieM and I was just talking about why she likes straights. ++1 on the above, plus she says that she can go longer before she needs to shave again, she likes the closer shave and no more ingrown hairs. She likes hser TOrreys a lot, especially her Little Guard.

+++1 here again to everything and when I do have stubble it's not sandpaper it's soft like when I was a teen. Also the conditioning (moisturizing) of the skin and how my skin looks.

My girlfriend seems interested, and she has good taste, she seems to like the DD Goldedge's, She thinks the scales are nice. Anyway, I'm trying to convince her to switch, but no luck yet. I guess when she's ready...

Here's a blog written by some gal about shaving with a straight. It's well written, informataive, and it's written by a woman for women (which probably will cary a bit more weight for most ladies)

shave your legs straight « Indecision

I think it actually may have been written by a member here, but I'm not sure.

zib, it took me almost a year to try out a straight. I wouldn't let JoeD do it at first. I actually did a year with a DE first. Maybe you could ease her into it that way. Those blades are still much cheaper than the cart blades and the shaves are much better too.
