Trying to get my fiancee in on it.
So I've been trying to convince my fiancee to get a SR, and I haven't even gotten mine yet.
My strategy right now is to tell her that it will be cheaper in the long run, especially since she goes through more razors in a month than I do, and the shave will last longer. If anyone has other ideas please let me know. I'm going to try and get her to register to this sight in the next few days, I will let you know what her user name is as soon as I can so you can share with her some first hand information. I thank you for the help ladies.

Less irritation, a hobby you two can get into together, you can shave each other (maybe...), better for the skin (single blade, the soap/cream/lather, balms), you can tweak the edge to how you like it.

+1 for everything holli4pirating said, Also the shaves are closer and they last longer. In most cases the hair also grows back finer for some reason.

I don't think that's true. The adverse is a more common misconception. snopes.com: Shaved Hair Grows Darker
Maybe it's just because your legs and their hair is pampered to silky smoothness with the high quality products you are using.

One of the best ways that I have found to convince her is to do the math. Figure out what she pays per shave then compare that to the cost of a straight plus the hone and strop, these two will come in one unit if you get a paddle strop. Then figure how long it will take until her costs exceed your costs, recall you have no recurring costs what so ever.
Here is another neat experiment that I will probably do with my mrs. You take your straight, strop and hone on vacation and she can take anything thing that she wishes. Now both of you suddenly have a dull blade and both of you have one hour to go out and find what you need. You don't need anything at all, you pull out your hone and in fifteen minutes your back up and running. You have spent $0 to get back up and running. She will likely need at least fiteen minutes just to get to a store then she will spend something to get a replacement blade. By the time she returns a half hour later you have put your hardware away and have your feet up and reading a book. You glance over and say "Where have you been? I was done fifteen minutes ago. Oh, by the way how much you spend? I spent $0." Any answer on her part admits defeat, no answer is admission of defeat. My mrs and I like to go to Mexico on vacation, now just try to get one of those fancy cartridges or disposables in Mexico, you will be lucky to find anything in Mexico. When I have my straight I don't need to get lucky I have everything I need with me.

I would say if she is interested she will see how it works on you first. IMHO I think it will be better for you to start shaving first, then if she wants to try a straight she will be more curious, then have the pros-and-cons conversation....
