i got a big dopp hanging bag like the one from ll bean. i carry a DE and a feather straight on the road. usually im gone like friday afternoon to sunday night if i go, so we are talking a saturday and sunday shave and sometimes i skip sunday til i get home that night. i had a small simpsons travel brush but sold it. ill take my regular kent bk8 and pack it and let it sit loose on top of everything or wrap it in toilet paper. if i travel by car, its on the back seat, and if i travel by plane, its a carry on.

    Default I think so

It's weird. I would have thought the same thing would apply to this blade. It's a Henckel from the 60's or 70's and responds to the hone as you've described. It came pretty sharp, but was a bit scratchy. My delicate attempts to smooth it out weren't working so I got less than gentle with it and it smoothed right up. That much pressure on one of my other shavers would have been too much for sure. It also made more noise on the hone than my other blades so I think (but what do I know) that it's stainless steel. Maybe it's not and it's just the Henckel steel, but it doesn't seem to want to stay super keen for the touch up stage. A quick stropping brings it right back to super keen though. I do have another Henckel that responds the same to the hone, but holds the edge better so what does that tell you?
