    Thanks, IonTheJester, will check out...

I mentioned above that I would post about my straight razor shave at the Granbury, TX barber shop. Read about my big adventure in the linked post below...

Would that be King Barber here? I've been in a few times, because they're my source of Lucky Tiger stuff, especially the Lemon Cream beard softener.

In Texas, a barber MAY legally shave you with a real straight, properly disinfected. Many CHOOSE to use the disposable shavette-style blades. I'd suggest you call ahead to verify, and/or bring your own straight.

I think you'll have a much better experience than in Granbury...

Yes, it is King Barber. I haven't called them yet. But, plan to any time now. And, I will check what type blade they use.

Also, tell me about Lemon Cream beard softener. A better softener than plain hair conditioner, I take it?

It's not a hair softener as such, but rather an oil remover. You might Google "oil cleansing system" or just look at this Shave Den sticky here. Post #10 has the original recipe, see also post #33 and #55, and heck, read the whole thread; it's got lots of contributions from the members.

If anyone is interested, there is an old barbershop on Camp Bowie Blvd in Fort Worth. I haven't been but I believe they give a straight razor shave. It certainly looks the part of an old time barbershop from the outside. It is right down the street from me, I need to try it out sometime.
