Thanked: 4942I always say that if there was no SRP tomorrow, that I would still get up and enjoy shaving with my straight razors. To me it really is not a superior feeling, but a self indulgence and personal pleasure and It helps start the day just feeling good about myself.
Enjoy!!

As best as i can describe it .... I enjoy the SR shave but i really enjoy it because my razor has a history,it was used before, it was restored by craftsmen here,i care for it so it can continue to have its place in now my history maybe my son will use it and continue its history.. its not disposeable and gone in a week! it has a story and with care it will last probably longer than me...

Thanked: 235Living in a country where most men struggle to grow two or three chin hairs I sure do feel superior. Also the fact that many of those men have a fear of sharp things and I shave with a razor sharp blade makes me feel even more superior.
I'm probably also just a little vain too.

I'm just in it for a great shave. I don't care what the lemmings use.

I'm with Otto on this. I shave with a straight razor simply for the pleasure of the experience and the closeness of the shave. RAD certainly put a huge number of razors in my hands but it's secondary to the experience and results.
With that said, I stumbled through my morning shaving routine for decades before I found out about straight razor shaving and started down that path. A feeling of superiority is somewhat tempered by that knowledge.

what i get a real kick from is when i tell someone that my razor is around 150 years old and it shaves better than any one they can buy, they look at me with a open mouth, and i just grin .that makes my day and i smell beter than they do, because i make my own after shave.

I enjoy all aspects of using a straight razor. In fact I feel a little sad for those who it's too much work for. These days everybody is always looking for the "quick fix' instead of "the best way". I would like to see more guys using straights and understanding sometimes the old ways are truly the best ways.

I personally don't feel superior, just a bit sad for all those guys who don't know what they are missing out on, using their canned goo and their overpriced disposable blades.
My everymorning shaves make me feel rather good about myself and I do enjoy the ritual every morning and also the fun when trying out new blades or a new soap / cream
