I agree with Obie on this one. A mustache is a small price to pay to fit in to the corporate culture.

Thanks for all your responses - this has been a great way to obtain a diverse range of opinions and experiences from well shaved gentlemen within organisations, and how to tackle (or not to tackle) the corporate world; in order for me to come to a decision.
As Obie said, 'Theyre not asking you, they are telling you,' is a valid point that cant be ignored, and as much as I am my own person, I do not yet have sufficient resources to be my own boss.
I like the idea of offering to shave it off in public with a straight for charity, but the concept of shaving off so much growth (and I believe a straight excels at full on beards!) is something I would like to do in my own time, as I have not done so before like that. Im looking forward to it in a strange way..
It was also a good idea to offer barber type shaves for charity; however I have no experience shaving others, only myself, and fear I may draw blood - consequently I would be generating negative charity as they would sue me!
Thanks for all the advice, its made it seem more positive.
So im gona grow a moustache for a month. Cant be that bad, doesnt Lynn sport one!?

Well if its really an issue you can shave it very popular "Naz-stache" and see whether they prefer you clean shaven and not participating or participating and looking like Hitler.

I enjoy shaving a thick beard right off with a straight. It is a real pleasure with good prep and a sharp razor. Just slides right off the face. It would be cool to shave your beard off with the straight while the other guy fiddles with clippers and then a safety razor, making a mess of it.

Thanked: 235I'm planning on doing just this for my school's open day. First I'm going to grow a full beard. When my school has its open day in December I'm going to open my own little barber shop. I'm going to be shaving a clientel of balloons and I might even get one of my gay students to be an assitant baber giving hair cuts. At the end of the day I will finish with a finally of shaving off my full beard infront of the whole school.

nathan - What kind of school do you go to/work at?
I've never grown the 'stache, I think I'm going to do it, even if it makes me look real creepy.
