11-16-2005, 07:21 AM #11It's a nice looking blade, but the bulge on the back of the handle is a real turn-off for me.
It's like a woman with curves...something to grab on to!!!

Sure, but that razor's handle is the equivalent of an obese woman! Your average razor (or girl) has all the necessary curves and provides you more than enough to hold onto. That Filarmonica is bordering on the obscene! Heh heh.
Now, maybe if its handle were a little more ornate I could be sold on it - but as it is, I think the material looks too ordinary.
Like I said, I think the blade rocks, but that handle is the pits.

Blade,
Look at the diffrence in blade size. 6/8 vs 7/8. It's like putting a size 10 shoe on a size 12 foot. The main thing is, go with what you like. Now,having said that, calling the Filarmonica "obese" is, just, wrong!
Shaving is a personal thing. Since getting my L'Alpin form Lynn, I have learned that size does matter. No more 5/8 for me! I'm going for the gusto!

Oh, I realize that it's a personal experience, and I totally respect your decision to own that razor (like I said, the blade itself is awesome). I just don't like the scales on it, and was just expanding on your "curves" analogy.
My claim: a woman's curves, much like a razor's, are attractive to a point; but when they grow too big, the essence of what you loved in the first place is forgotten. Obscured. Tainted.
And yes, that's a little too philisophical for this. Ha.
In a nutshell: Your razor = awesome; Its scales = Need to be changed to something more sleek, to match its smooth cutting power. It just looks incongruent to me.
Sorry for calling your baby obese.
