would you give up all other brands for a [insert favorite razor maker here]
So here's an interesting question that was briefly brought up in the Butcher Shop: Is there a razor brand for which you'd give up all other razors? This is assuming you could have a full 7-day set of your pick of razors from that maker.
My answer: I don't think so. Wostenholms probably come the closest, but I just don't think I could give up my Genco forgemark (or a few others)...
And where's the fun in shaving with the same razors for the rest of your life?
Thoughts?

Hmm... I don't think I have tried enough brands to be sure, but I suppose if you could pick any 7 made by that company I would be tempted. There are some very nice Heljestrands...
Do customs count?

No way, man. I'm too much man for just one razor. You'll pry my wildly mismatched and growing collection of razors from my cold dead hands.

Thanked: 199I haven't even touched the tip of the iceberg as far as trying different razors is concerned, but I would have to say no.
Would be like giving up all your hones for just one set from one maker. My answer would also be no for that one as well
You can't eat just one type of food/ice cream/etc all the time...you gotta have some diversity in there. And you know what they say...
Diversity if the spice of life!

No there is no one brand that would make me give up the rest. Interesting thought though. If you told me I could only keep one it would be a tossup between my favorite Robert Williams and my favorite Mastro Livi. I'll go that far in a hypothetical.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

I think you will have a hard time getting anyone here to stick with one, we all love straights thats why we are here, you might as well ask which limb we would most want to keep

The more razors you use the more you realize they are all special. As much as I have a few I really like I would never just pick one in place of all the others.

Would You Give Up . . . ?
Gentlemen,
I must agree with "thebigspendur." In my modest razor collection, I have one or two absolutely favorite razors. Yet my preference for them is not at the expense of the other razors in the rack. To me, each razor has its own identity, and I take it for what it is.
Regards,
Obie
