Thanked: 2209May I suggest leaving the pins in. If you remove them then the collectible value goes way down. Everything must be original. Watch the video by Brian Donofrio on restoring a straight razor or get the CD from Bill Ellis on razor restoration at www.billysblades.com . Try using a popsicle(sp?) stick with some cloth wrapped around it to get in between the scales. Use MAAS to clean up the blade and the last thing is to hone the razor.

Thanked: 1Well It dosent really mater if I remove the pins any morebecouse I managed to drop it this morning and cracked the blade for about an inch and a halph straight up the middle.
