    I do still have and use my grandfathers mug when shaving

    Hmm, I can't remember exactly... I think it was a long obsession for me, watching the straight razor scenes in the movies, and wanted to try one of those... Since I am fan of anything sharp and crafted with skill and top quality materials, it came naturally... Then, long time after, desperate from my previous shaving experience, I got angry, turned on the PC, and typed "The Art of Shaving" Coincidentaly, I spelled the web site of the company bearing this exact same name, and there all started... I followed the info about preping technique, swithched to brush and Gilette gel, and really improved my shaves. Oh, I forgot to mention, there I first saw new straight razors for sale. I really liked the Renaisance (DOVO's), but it was with a hefty ~200$ price, but anyways, I was determined to get it one day. When my friend decided to get maried, he asked me to be his best man, and asked what I wanted as a present. I was like: Well, there is this one thing I want for a long time, but I dont know if you... And that is how I got my first razor, DOVO No.105, White Micarta handle, faux Damascus blade from Ray's ClassicShaving. The rest is history...

    I know exactly what you mean. I can't remember the first time I thought about learning to shave properly(may I say)? I guess it must have been that first time when I was 16 or 17 and watched my barber Jim do it himself. The only thig I remember thinking is "I don't even really shave yet, I'll never need that. Why is he telling me all this"?
    The first time I actually thought about wanting to do it myself? . . . It probably started drifting in as an idea about ten years ago or so, but I've no idea what really started it. Gotta think about it some more.
