I take him at his word on that. My only concern is that the hair won't be blonde now. I can just see my mother ripping me a new one for trying that. Dear lord she would be so angry. Some mothers get mad and its like a bit of rain. Mine would become a tsunami over it.

I could see giving a gal a nice shave, just not the face and never the brows. Just asking for trouble there.
any way you want to look at it.. he is BRAVE, VERY BRAVE..
if a lady asked me to shave her face it would kinda be like her asking "does this pair of pants make me look fat?" i would have no answer and would be at a loss for words....again, he is BRAVE...

if you are talking about threading eye brows, it is taking some thread and twisting it (gathering eye brow hair in the twist) then pulling. think of it as an epilady for fine/delicate work.

Am I the only one who doesn't see this as being that weird at all?!

    - As we've seen from videos posted here and in other threads, in some countries this is used as part of a beauty treatment primarily for exfoliation.

    - many threads here in the past have discussed the fallacy that hair grows back thicker/stronger/darker as a result of shaving. It doesn't. SO really, it's not that big a deal.

    - who are we to say what's weird when all of my close friends and family think I am completely nuts and strange to use such old dated methods of shaving, to take so long over it, and to be so obsessed with part of my daily ablutions: hones, strops, pastes, and badger hair FFS!

As the best-known signoff on SRP says: have fun! The OP gave a friend a shave which was a good experience for both. He wanted to share that on a friendly forum. I think the jibes were uncalled for.

Rather sensitive young man shaveboy is if he needs someone else to explain this.

That is certainly a beautiful woman and I am sure her face looked wonderful after that, but is that common in Japan?

Mark - it wasn't shaving a woman's face that I found weird, it was the OP's one liner with little to no detail that I found weird, and then the rather caustic reaction to some playful prodding as to what he meant. Follow all that up with another member having to explaining what the OP really meant makes for the weirdest thread I've ever seen here.

Again, not the content of the post, but how it was posted.

    Mark
