    Default Does anyone exfoliate?

Does anyone exfoliate with a granular scrub or some other product (sponge, loofa, sisal cloth, AHA solution)? What do you use and how often?

If you haven’t thought about it before you might consider it as a weekly pre-shave procedure. Exfoliating removes the dead cell layer and accelerates new cells to move quickly to the surface, improving the moisture content, color and texture of the skin, and stands the beard for a closer, smoother shave; wrinkles can be less noticeable too.

I have a handmade soap that was a gift, and is in a "soap sock" which is like a loofa but slightly less abrasive. (http://www.chagrinvalleysoapandcraft.com/). I really like it, and use it in the shower pretty much every day.

However, as far as the face, one of the benefits of using a shave brush is that it exfoliates gently, and gets rid of dead skin - and so does a straight razor, at least in my experience.

I use St. Ives acne wash that has the apricot hull in it. I like it, just doesn't smell that great. I use it every day.

I'll sometimes use an exfoliating face cloth, but I find the shave is the most excellent exfoliator.

I was using the Nivea men's facial scrub. When I ran out, I forgot to buy more. Shaving with a straight razor does exfoliate, much more so than a Mach3, etc. It might be too much to do on a daily basis, but as part of the weekend super shave ritual it might not be a bad thing.

I've got several of the St. Ives scrubs and their Hydroxy Masque. I exfoliate twice a week and use the masque on Sunday evening. Daily, I use a bar of Dove Exfoliating soap.

I used green clay mask couple of times, and when dry, I just start making grimaces to crack the mask. Great exfoliation trick...

That single line (Men don't exfoliate) is probably enough to start another thread, so I should leave it be.
