What number did you get Tony? I just honed this razor for the fourth time. Going now to test shave yet again. Grrrrrrrrrr....
Ok, just shaved. Much better but not great. This is after taking it to 1k Shapton for a few strokes then pyramid, 5k paste and strop.Last edited by Korndog; 01-10-2006 at 07:42 PM. Reason: addendum

Larry,
Unlike the SRP trazor I doubt these were sold consecutively. I suspect all 450 were numbered, boxed and shipped to whoever orders them. I know the Belgian dealer said he was ordering more as they were selling rather well there.
My box carries the model and description but no mention of what number was wrapped and inside.

Oaky, I tried the Pierre Thiers today for the first time and really liked it. It was nearly shave ready as it came but I gave it 12 passes on 0.5 micron and 15 or so on 0.25 microm Amplex pastes and my travel paddle strop (I keep this handy in the bathroom). I did the same with the Whalebone TI as well.
Stropping on a hanging strop felt a little odd as the spine has that odd curve to it so I needed to go slowly and be very mindful of what I was doing.
The shave was uneventful which is what any shave should be <g>. It did feel odd using a small razor again as typically I use a 6/8 or larger. These both shaved smoother than any others in my stable which means to me I need to do some work on my regulars.

Having used one of those gems for quite awhile now I can tell you that once you get it shave ready it is an exceptional razor. Its overall the best shaver I have. Sharp, balanced, beautiful and a pleasure to hone. What more can you ask for.
