Gillette Fusion is here
At last, the new Gillette Fusion shaving system is now available in a store near you.
For those of you immune or not receptive to Gillette mind control, the Fusion is a five-bladed cartridge shaver with and without the power of a Duracell AAA battery in the grip. Of course there's also lubricating strips and vitamin E and lanolin delivery systems as well as an entire line of Fusion Foams in a can.
What? You're happy with your Mach 3? Good for you. Just be aware that within a year, Gillette will raise the price on the Mach 3 thus forcing the consumer to say, "May as well switch" to the five-bladed flag ship of gizmology.
Suckers!

Library Guy, five blades means five times the amount of irritation and razor burn as well as being @#@%-ed X 5, in my humble opinion!
You gotta admit though, they're really adept at marketing? The yups will all go out and buy them.

Hint to gillette: Orange is never manly.
Oh yeah. Here's the ingredients list for their aftershave balm:
Water (aqua/eau), Octyldodecyl Stearate, PPG - 3 Benzyl Ether Myristate, Cyclopentasiloxane, Cyclohexasiloxane, Glycerin, Distarch Phosphate, Fragrance (Parfum), Bisabolol, DMDM Hydantoin, Xantham gum, Myreth-3 Myristate, Niacinamide, Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, Carbomer, Sodium Hydroxide, Tocopheryl Acetate, Panthenol, PPG - 25, Sodium EDTA, Iodopropynyl Butylcarbamate, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice, Retinyl Palmitate, Ascorbyl, Phenoxyethanol, Methylparaben, Propylparaben, Butylparaben, Isobutylparaben
Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer? Fantastic! I cannot fucking wait! This will solve all my problems. Women will be crawling over each other to get to me.
Okay, seriously. I'm going to wait for the mach44.

Gillette? What is this 'Gillette' you speak of? That is an odd sounding word. does it have something to do with shaving?

Better life through chemistry.
I don't see how this is really an advance over the Mach3 (which, to be honest, is a pretty good razor, if the cartridges weren't so damn expensive). I mean, do I really need a buzzing, vibrating razor being put to my face every morning? It's the disposable electric.
This all being said, I haven't tried one - if I do have to use a disposable for some reason (traveling, for example) I use either the Mach3 or a Bic Metal or something of that kind.

Oh, and another thing...
I was away a few days ago and had to actually shave with edge and a disposable (*shudder* *groan* *shiver*).
Not only can I no longer, after months of using a brush, stand the feeling of the gel on my face, and that wonderful chemical-menthol sensation... but I also nicked myself with the disposable worse than almost anything I've done with a straight.
Yikes. I've apparently regressed (or progressed) so far in razor technology that I would be hooting and bashing the powered razor with a rock trying to make it work.

Thanked: 1This is just ridiculous. I bet the replacement cartridges are $20 or more for a pack of 5. The cans of cream are probably $5. I went in walgreens last night looking for some pipe tobacco and right there in front of the door was a big 3x5 foot orange display hawking these wastes of resources. I had to just laugh and keep going. If someone WANTS to waste their money on this stuff then be my guest. I won't. I did it for 20 years because I didn't know better. I still have to take my cartridge razor when I go to Drills but I'm working on getting proficient enough with the str8 that I won't have to do that either.

You know two packets of those blades and you could get an ebay razor. Not a great one but an ok one.

I think I'll wait...
until that razor (I can't remember the commercial) comes out that looks like it has about 5 or 6 straight razor blades that oscillate on a hand-held doo-dad before I give up my straight blade.

Thanked: 2I don't think I'll go back to a disposable until it comes with a honey who will sit in my lap and do the shaving for me. I think the vibrations would be better.
