When does you beard grow fastest??
Okay, does ones beard grow more in the morning or is it an even proces throughout the day??
Here is why I ask. If I shave late on a Sunday, maybe noon or so I find that even the next morning I have very little beard to shave off. But after that early Monday morning shave (5:00 am) I have a 5:00 shadow by 3:30pm that does not look significantly different the next day. It seems that my beard does it's major growth early in the day then changes little after that.
How about you guys?

Tony, the same thing happens to me because on the weekend I also shave later - typically late morning. That's about four hours more growth than my weekday shaves. For me, that extra growth makes the shave much more comfortable and closer because the hair is now further from the root and it's softer as well. I sometimes won't show a shadow until late Sunday afternoon from a Saturday morning shave - and I have a coarse, heavy beard. I do take my time on the weekend which does also play a part in the quality shave, but it's not too significant a factor.
Biologically speaking, hair growth is dependant on climate, diet, metabolism, and other factors. I paid attention in my pre-medical classes.

Good question Tony. I am going to have to pay attention to that.

I think I read somewhere that the beard grows more overnight and I think this follows with my own observations.

Thanked: 15Good question. I think mine tends to grow more during the day, like you said. If I shave at night before turning in for the evening, I don't seem to have much of a beard when I wake up. If I shave in the morning, then by late afternoon, I'm starting to sprout again....
I'll have to experiment a little to really know...

My growth is really dependant on my current schedule. I work in an area that is manned 24X7 and in a 7 week period, I cover all shifts. I would say that my beard always grows faster if I'm awake and doing something. In the summer it grows even more. I've noticed that if I'm about to spend a nice warm summer day on the lake, I'll get a really good amount of growth, but then I'm out in the woods, and who cares what you look like then??

Chris, your observation about a beard growing less at night is correct. The body's functions, all of them, go into a somewhat slower mode while sleeping because there are very little demands put on the body while sleeping.
Check this out......... A lady asked me last night why I don't get permanent laser hair removal on my face???!!!!!!! That would suck, I told her. What would I do in the morning to replace my relaxing shave? I really enjoy the three "S"es is the AM. Sh_t, shower, and shave - in that order.

Are you kidding? If I didn't shave when I'm out in the woods, I'd only be shaving once every two or three days (depending on whether it's field season). Maybe I'm strange (okay...we all know that's the case), but since taking to a straight I don't think I've missed shaving more than one or two days--sometimes looking forward to my morning ablutions is the main impetus for getting out of bed .

Strange thing…
I am the spokesman for a company which requires me to drive around sometimes. On days that I drive around all day my beard grows more. No BS.
…this leads me to believe that whatever you are doing makes a difference in how your beard grows… ?
