Default Do you buy razors on ebay ?

I'm curious as to how many of us buy razors on ebay . I've bought quite a few in the past , but due to the fact that I have more than enough razors , and some of the insane prices razors are selling for on ebay , I haven't bought any in the past year or so .
Greetings , from Dundalk , Maryland . The place where normal people , fear to go .

I do. I got two in the mail this week and won an auction yesterday. The stuff I buy on ebay is for restoration though. If I was going to spend a lot of money on a razor, I would be purchasing from one of the sponsors here. I don't mind paying little and having no customer support, but if I am putting down some decent money I'd like to know that if I have warranty type issues someone is going to be there to help me out.

Absolutely. OTOH, I have a little experience and know what to look for. I ask questions and definitely look before I leap. IOW, check those pix out and if they ain't good enough ask questions and maybe for more pix.

Up until now I've never bought razors on ebay. The antique stores and flea markets where I am keep me nicely supplied. Don't rule it out in the future though.

Used to, don't now. I simply have too many vintage and classic units from past forays onto the bay and now only need a few more onshore units from Jim, John, Lido, Don, Lynn, and Martin before I'm done collecting. You may wonder how I know them on a first name basis. It's this darn disorder I have. It's under treatment, though. I hope the new medication works better than the others.

I've bought some but mainly stuff that's cheap that I can practice honing on. However I did score one that has recently made it's way to Maximilian for a restore, can't wait to see how that comes out. Big ol' chopper. I might try my hand at a restoration with some I have left. I don't actively look for straights on ebay though.

I do buy on Ebay. But I am real picky on what I buy so it is very limited and most of the time it is something that is over looked by others.

I have in the past. But like some of the guys, I have somewhere around 100 now. I have the opportunity to go to antique stores and I as I'm sure anyone would, MUCH prefer buying in person.

So, I guess for me it's having a bunch or razors now, not having the time to really comb Ebay on a regular basis, etc.

It's really funny, my ADs have been largely in remission for some time now. I've been on to other things that require cashola: tabletop machining.......So, where I used to scrape together any cash in search of razors and stones, now my mind is full of images of micrometers, dial test indicators, quick change tool posts, the list goes on and on and on and on. Tools are an expensive diversion, aren't they?

Right on, if you are getting involved in ebay you need to ask everything (or be willing to take a chance on a possible junker). I give a big +1 to this and I'd add:

If you don't know what to be asking about, (like what razor problems are serious, or find yourself asking things like "what is pitting" or "what is hone wear") you should stay in the classifieds for a bit longer, or start with something new from a reputable dealer.
