Been there, done that. 2 or 3 shaves in with my brand new razor I did the same thing and put a little nick in the blade of my Dovo. I sent it off to Ken Rupkalvis (kenrup on here) and he had it fixed and back to me in no time, good as new.

Thanked: 0I'm sorry, I shouldn't make general statements like I did. I guess it's not the same for everyone, everywhere. I am fortunate that the cutlery store near me specialize in razors and shaving equipment. And the cutlery store back home used to take care of my father's razor when he didn't have the time to. And the guy at the one over by where i went to college taught me to hone and strop 20 years ago. So my experience with people who work in cutlery stores is only my own and I shouldn't have assumed that it is the same elsewhere.

20 years ago there was a barber or two in my hometown too
some cutlery stores are still good with razors but who has the time to learn a skill like that in the market we got now?
good people is hard to find.
And when you find them huh they want payment for there work???
