Yikes! You saw through my plan.
The offer is real and serious. If it sells for $250 or over I will make you one of your own and I will start a business.
I am hoping that it will work because I have a few crazy ideas for scales that I am dying to try but the detail work in them could not be justified without having a market.
I will make a few graphics like I did for the strat and post a poll to get feedback of what theme I should use for the next set of scales:
1. golf bag with zippers and miniature clubs, wood for the bag, brass and wood for the clubs;
2. a chopper (as in motorcycle) with ebony tires, bright wood for the body work and brass for the metal work and I want to put a real meat chopper blade in it;
3. a pipe (as in smoking tobacco) with ebony for the tip and a nice burl for the pipe itself;
4. a Saxaphone, ebony and brass with lots of brass detail.
5. a Fountain pen, either Waterman or Montblanc inspired. Montblanc is probably a bigger market although Waterman makes finer writing instruments.
6. and for Star Wars fans a C3PO and R2D2 as soon as I can figure out what materials to use for them and whether Lucas Film will sue me out of existence if I do.
I am going to make a few more example scales but after that I will take custom scale requests based on a photo of the object of affection and make scales to match.
I want to offer custom scaled razors that will make a perfect gift for someone who has everything. 'Cause that means they can afford to pay for them .

Since you don't have a TI, I'd go for that one first. The Dovo Micarta with black scales is a close second (it's on my wish list).

Thanked: 4942Out of the ones you showed, I like both the TI and the Renaissance. I am really partial to the TI Limited Edition Egytian's though. I have two of them and they are not only nice looking, but superior shavers. Lynn

This one makes my heart go pitter patter. And my wallet keeps saying "pass"! Well, just in case any one is feeling generous...my birthday is in May!

Still nothing excites me at all...does anyone know if the TIs at classicshaving or anywhere else are basically the same design in blade. The pics show various blade styles in the shank, some curvy, some thick fat shanks, I suspect that the pictures have been doctored poorly and that all the blades are the same. It looks like the pics have had the backgrounds removed with an amatuer hand. I suspect the blades are much more attractive than the pictures give them credit.

It sounds like you should keep your money and wait until something strikes a chord. Whatever you buy now you probably won't enjoy it. If it sounds like a voice of experience, it is.
Let me slide out my therapist's couch ... (squeaking sound) ..... Ok, what are you trying to avoid dealing with by buying a new razor?

Thanked: 0Man, those TI "Egyptians" are breath taking. I currently have a TI Blond Horn Silver Steel 6/8, so I wish they made the "Egyptians" in a 6/8 version. Who knows though, I may like the 5/8 just fine.

That Leaf and Vine is a beauty. It is my latest TI, snagged off of ebay. No bargain but a little less than new. I just honed it up tonight for tomorrow's shave.
It was a relaxing way to spend the evening after digging out from 15" of snow today!
