Lynn, I cannot comment on the Maestro's razors. I wish I could!! I doubt any "production" razor could hold a candle to a true hand made custom, even more so with the higher end steels. As far as buying a razor "off the rack", I will vote TI. French politics notwithstanding. I am not a fan of the ways of their government, but I won't shun the products of their people because of it. Hell, if Iran made a mean badger brush, I'd probably buy one. I will give you this, though, the three TI razors I have are from the upper end of their product range. I cannot comment on those aside from the "Sheffield Steel" from Ray and the "Eagle Brand" that Howard at the Knifecenter carries. These two lines are incredible razors to me. I'm curious to try one of their sub-$100 ones to see if there is a difference.

The TI factory, France:
"Zee Americans -- zey are pigs, non?"
"Exactement, Pierre!! Les cochons!!"
X-man, did you know that the Middle East is the source of only nine or ten percent of North America's oil? Can you guess where the rest comes from?

Forget the French buy a Dovo. I have two and I love them both.

The Dovo's are a better finished razor (much more attractive) but the TI's are just better quality blades and shave better. Does that mean the Dovo's don't give great shaves , no not at all its just a matter of degree. I have several of both and that's the way I see it.
