I think many people will tell you that razors are really undervalued. If you look at what collectable knives are going for you'll realize this. I think that down the road the knife collectors will realize this and maybe 10 years from now that wonderedge might have an extra zero attached to it and we'll all be talking about the good old days when you could buy a good vintage razor for less than a thousand bucks!

The way prices are going it's making me think I should put those Pumas I have in my rotation away because they're to valuable to shave with.lol. Just think what the SRP special edition razors will be going for someday. If I'm not mistaken they stop at #250. Buy them now while there's some left.

Maybe I'm wrong on this one, but I'm a little skeptical that the SRP razors will skyrocket in value, despite their limited numbers. I'm sure they'll hold their value, given the reputable Thiers Issard name, but who, besides the people registered on this site, would these razors appeal to? I suppose people will always want what is in short supply, but when I look at the other TI razors out there, the club model kind of pales in comparison, don't you think? No? Okay, I'll shut up about them.

As for the Wonderedge -- wow. Nearly four-hundred dollars! I mean, to get one as minty fresh as the one we all watched climb in price on eBay, you'd have to get yourself a time machine. I've never used one, personally, but I've heard (we've all heard) that it's a great razor.

    But it's just a razor.

I mean, was the Wonderedge an honest-to-goodness breakthrough in the shaving world when it was introduced? Is it really the "World's best razor," as the package boasts? Or has recently word of mouth alone made it the holy grail of razor collecting? Either way, with every inflated eBay sale, those who own one, like the razor a little more; and those who don't have one are willing to pull a little more money from out their noses.

I'll continue to entertain the fantasy of stumbling across one at an estate sale for a really cheap price, though. Ha. Actually, about two weeks ago I saw a sign for an estate sale and as I walked towards it, I played out what I wanted to have happen in my head.

"Hear for the sale are ya, laddy? Well, I'm afraid pretty much everything's sold. Lots of early risers for these sales, you know. We put what didn't sell on that table at the back, there -- just some old, sealed boxes of straight razors. Nobody'll ever use those old fashioned things again -- Wonderduck, I think the labels said. Anyway, take 'em all for a fiver, if yer interested."

    Ah, I see.

I thought I was being censored or something.
