Some words of advice for new members on Ebay...
Ebay can be fun; I enjoy bidding and winning but I also find pleasure in losing; I'm happy for the person who wins. However, Ebay is not for everybody. Financial considerations aside, be sure you know yourself before you start to bid! Some personality types are just not suited for auctions or Ebay; if you have obsessive or compulsive tendencies, can't tolerate being overbid or are overly acquisitive, ebay may not be the place for you. Better to channel your energies in another direction and find some other way to enjoy your straight razor hobby. You'll spare yourself and others a lot of unpleasantness. Have fun!

Hey lets encourage them to join. It's fun watching the price double and triple what they should be.

Thanked: 4942Ebay is a gas. The antique stores never have so many nice razors in one place. Every now and then someone will get lucky on an estate auction or from an antique store. In the past five years, the number of razors up for auction on ebay has tripled and they are still coming out of the woodwork. Wish I never heard the word Wonderedge or a bunch of others at this point, but the more we exchange information here, the more the cost of nice razors will go up. All in all, we are creating a wonderful impact to the shaving world. Unfortunately the increasing prices go along with it.......hate when that happens. You also have to notice that the amount of shavettes and Pakistanis have gone up there also......lol. Have fun. Lynn

Thanked: 324I the Pakistani junk peddlers. I don't even want to think about how many people who wanted to try shaving with a straight razor got suckered into buying those tin can lids and subsequently promised God that if he would give them their face back, they'd never shave with a straight razor again.

Isn't the saying "Let the buyer beware"? Ebay has tons of junk on it and I learned the hard way to look at a deal 6 ways from Sunday.

Thanked: 324That's the game, Larry. Things are worth what people are willing to pay. Ebay is a mile wide but inches deep.

Thanked: 0Is that what the DD ended up at? $400 whew! Do you think the prices of the DD's are inflated somewhat due to the raves and discussion that takes place on this site? The growing popularity of SR shaving if surley evident here, and one of the only cheap sources is ebay although you really must be carefull of what you are bidding on. I bought a Goldedge on ebay (don't have it yet), partly just to have one and partly because I know it will have a good resale value one day... There are collectable razors on ebay that sell below there value for sure. Think of that $400 mint Wonderedge like an old collectable car... look what has happened with that market! One day that razor will be worth $1000 or more.
