I live about 45 minutes north of cinci and never realized ohio allowed barbers to use traditional straights.

Let me know what you think.

See if you can score some razors from him. I would bet for those that get a true razor shave, probably no one asks to buy razors. He might be impressed and flattered. I absolutely would ask if he had razors to sell if it was me.

Also, don't forget to ask him what stones he uses to hone his razors and let us know.

    Pics if possible.

Don't worry I'm definitely chatting that old man up about everything shaving related. I found an old article where he was talking about doing 20-30 shaves A DAY!

Good luck with that. Should be fun. and it will really up your appreciation for your personal skills.

As an aside i stopped by a shop a couple days back and was surprised to see the young feller stropping a real straight. He was trying to get his blade sharp.

I asked about the legal issue. Apparently here-not illegal but discouraged. His argument was the blade was no different than his clippers, which on rare occasion might nick and are always cleaned and sanitized as is the razor so what could be the problem?
