Thanked: 10The Mariemont Barber Shop
My wife and I are heading to Cincinnati for our anniversary this weekend (b/c RazorCon is next weekend...man's got to have priorities) and I scheduled a shave with the Mariemont Barber Shop.
As Ohio is one of the few states that allow a real straight razor shave, I'm really looking forward to it. Has anyone ever been?

You have to try the chilli parlors. Next to Texas, they are a little crazy about their chilli... Cincinatti chilli, check it out..

You're a brave man going to a barber for a shave. Let us know how it turns out and if it's a great shave right after you finish run out and buy a lottery ticket because you'll probably be the luckiest guy in the world.

Thanked: 10They seem to be the highest rated ones in town, and their website seems like they atleast value a straight shave.
I called and made a reservation and when speaking with the Owner he seemed genuine enough.

Thanked: 10After further research, I've changed my barber to:
Nick Salzano and Sons, 221 E. Fourth St. Cincinnati, OH 45202 Tel: (513) 241-9669
Apparently this guys opened his first shop in Italy at age 19 and moved to Cincinnati 45 years ago. Seems like the real deal.

See if you can score some razors from him. I would bet for those that get a true razor shave, probably no one asks to buy razors. He might be impressed and flattered. I absolutely would ask if he had razors to sell if it was me.
Also, don't forget to ask him what stones he uses to hone his razors and let us know.
Pics if possible.

Thanked: 10Don't worry I'm definitely chatting that old man up about everything shaving related. I found an old article where he was talking about doing 20-30 shaves A DAY!
