Insan-eBay
Is it just me or are things getting crazier on ebay over the razors? When I first started looking last year some razors were going for about $20 or so and I remember some guys mentioning that that was inflated from what they remembered. Now it seems similar razors are going for $30 or $40. Am I crazy or is everybody else just beginning to catch on?

Not only are the razors getting more expensive, the razors that I am looking at now are the more expensive ones.

I was just looking at them...some of them are really nice...but a bit out of my price range... And in Europe there's virtually NOTHING affordable.

Ebay is horribly addictive, though. I've got 11 razors on the way. I've had to put myself on Ebay time-out. When you first start out collecting, you want as many different types as you can lay hands on. Hey, you gotta find out what you like (at leas that's what the voices in my head keep saying)

Thanked: 324I think there are more very high quality razors on Ebay today than a year ago. There are still quite a few really good razors selling for less than $20.00, but most of those need some work and they're not the cult classics. I think there may be a few more collectors today than a year ago, but it's a revolving door with some playing harder and some laying off at any given time. And the more experienced the collector, the less he'll be attracted to the lower-priced razors, so the average price will inevitably go up. The perception, then, would naturally be that the prices are spiraling up when, perhaps, it's the buyer's choices that keep spiraling up toward more rare, unusual or highly prized items.
