I was curious about KarmaPolice's comment about KY personal lubricant. I don't have any KY handy, but I do have a bottle of Astroglide on hand. The ingredients of Astroglide list: Purified Water, Butylene Glycol, Xylitol (a sugar alcohol), Propylene Glycol and Polyquaternium 15.

I added a squirt of Astroglide to my regular über lather recipe (a squirt being considerably less than one might use for its intended purpose). This made for a huge improvement in my lather and the comfort of my shave!

I'm going to continue to experiment with Astroglide. I just wanted to share that it is worth giving it a try!
