    Default A moment of inattention....

Today, I trashed the edge of one of the gssixgun razors
that I just received last week.

I was shaving, I set the razor down in a "safe place"
when I got distracted, and it fell to the floor.

Result? A chip in the blade, which I have been trying
    all day to fix.

I'll be able to hone out the chip, but the beautiful
    gssixgun edge is toast!

    Stupid! Stupid! Stupid!

I managed to cut my finger on the blade of my Merkur 34C HD de safety razor. Go figure.

    1. Cut my hand to crap because I dropped a razor and without thought tried to catch it...Result, shredded hand....

    2. Chipped a Henkels friodor (?) because I was stupid enough to put it on extra fine DMT witihout first sanding down the chips....Result...Chipped NOS Henkels.

Man, what a sorry bunch of Oafs you guys are. I never have to worry about mishaps like that.

After shaving under my nose, I was bringing the blade down to wipe off the lather and I clipped the front of my chin. I now have a one inch scar.

    What a depressing thread

I remember sanding right thru the hollow of a nice Genco chasing that last pit that bugged me.

'Rolling on the floor, laughing my *ss off!

This thread does me alot of good. If there's a mistake to be made, I'll find it. Some I'll do several times. (pay no attention to those strops - they're really a macrame project. )

Way to many mishaps to count, the dremel debacle, dropping razors, hand sanding cuts, buffer gaffs and on and on..... sometimes I wonder where the fun is in all of this!

    Default Yeoowwwww!

About two months ago I decided to enter the world of SR shaving. After reading a lot on this and other sites I decided to learn wet shaving technique with a DE first. Thoroughly enjoying myself. Never knew shaving could be such a relaxing, luxurious ritual.

Two weeks ago I bought a Shavette and Personna ridge back blades. I started by doing just the down pass on the cheeks and then added the chin and neck. I finished the shave with the DE.

OK. Everything is going fine. I put a new blade in the shavette yesterday and sliced off a layer of my chin the size of a 2 and 1/2 dollar gold piece! Yeowwww!! Happened so fast I'm not sure what I did!! This is a crazy way to shave!! Got a nice scar.

Ended up laughing my ass off with the wife while bleeding all over a washcloth!! Thought about putting the shavette away, locking up the blades, and never touching a naked blade to my face, again. But I won't give up. This stuff is addicting!

Had to happen some time. Hope it doesn't happen again.
