I want restoration challenges and in the $1 to $40 range. At $50+ the razor better have some serious potential hidden behind its pitting and tarnish.

As you should I actually got a couple of decent scores, but they will take some time with the dremel to reveal their true potential. One will actually need to be taken to a rough hone to turn a frown upside down before it sees my 4k/8k Japs. Posted the links in my topic here.

And what's the "almost feeling bad" comment? Salt on the wound?

I was thinking it might find its way into a box with some wood.

You sound almost too serious. I hope you realize that Bill and I were just teasing you.
I picked up 5 restoration challenges already for about $30 S&H included. I am not going to hold yours against you.
Now, if that was a 8/8 W&B meatchopper you picked up for under $50 then it would be a completely different story. I think I'd carry the grudge to my grave.
Just hope you know that when the auction says "could use cleaning" it usually leaves out the "with a sand blaster" to make it completely true. The blade looks fine from what I can see in the photo but be prepared for rust and pitting.

It's all in fun of course I really did think about sending it to you with the briar, because I'd love to see briar scales on a W&B like that.
If it's an 8/8, I may have to hold out though ...
