    Thumbs up John Crowleys Razors!!!

I got my razor today, and it is absolutely beautiful. The razor is immensely think and heavy, it feels like I am holding a tool that I could use to cut down a small bush, and I love it. I was absolutely speechless, I felt like it was the first time I ever saw a straight razor, again. I just cant say enough about it, I am almost shaking as Im trying NOT to immediately order another one (the fiance would lose her mind). I will definitely be getting another one as soon as I can figure out how to hide it!!! Im going to go dream about my new razor now! (is that bad considering I'll be in bed with a beautiful woman??)

That's great JL. A real looker too. Please let me know what you think of the shave in comparison to the razors you've been using. I'd love to find out if you think they're all they're cracked up to be. I'm sure you'll enjoy it at the leasts. I'm jealeous.

JL, got mine too from John. It's an awesome shaver. The weight really helps. The wooden scales are beautiful, not as beautiful as yours though.

Remember, keep the blades far from the ladies!! I don't want to hear any more crazy stories from you.

    Holy Smoke, thats a nice looking razor. Must . . . resist . . . urge . . . to buy.
My kids are young, it would be a shame if my woman had to kill me.

    Wow.

I was thinking of getting a razor with wooden scales from him. I dont have any with wooden scales yet, but thats because I think the plastic always look better. Do wooden scales lose their beauty in photographs, or are they just an aquired taste?

A good set of wood scales (ironwood, cocobolo, kingwood, tulipwood, etc.) will blow away any set of plastic scales you own. They balance out better, feel better, are better.

Is there any wood that is more long lasting and better wearing than another? I like the cocobolo and snakewood on his site.

Probably the cocobolo, but only because I don't know squat about the snakewood. Snakewood's prettier, IMO. The cocobolo is so oily and dense, though, that it should resist cracking and warping better the most woods. Ironwood is a wonderful choice, too, although it's quite expensive.

JL, wood has character, beauty, and strength. They'll last just as long as plastic scales, if not longer because they won't get brittle like plastic. You'll appreciate the craftsmanship once you have one in your hand.

Hey, wait a minute, I thought there was a moratorium on razor purchases in the JL household????
