Here are a few shaving related facts (from Godrej). Enjoy:

• There are about 30,000 beard hairs on the face of the average man—the greatest concentration on the chin and upper lip.
• Hair grows about one millimeter a day.
• Hair grows faster during the day than at night.
• The ideal shave angle (razor blade meeting the face) is 28-32 degrees.
• Hair on the neck grows parallel to the skin.
• 42% of men report that they have no facial hair.
• 34% say they have a moustache, 19% with sideburns, 17% have a goatee, 6% have a full beard, and 3% have a soul patch.
• The average man will have spent 900 hours shaving (the equivalent of 37 1/2 days) between ages 15 and 75.
• The majority of men, 84%, shave at the sink. Another 15% of men shave in the shower.
• Men between the ages of 18 and 24 shave an average of four times a week.
• Men over the age of 35 shave an average of six times a week.
• The average man begins to shave regularly when he begins to work regularly.
• The average man spends 10-15 hours a year shaving.
• The average shave lasts 3 ½ minutes.

For me that last 2 facts are definitely not true. I probably spend ~10 times longer .

I'm guessing the last "fact" is based on the poll of those sampled being Mach 3 or Fusion 5 commandos using canned goo?!?!?!

My best time for a DFS, not BBS, is probably around 15-20 minutes with prep time included.

3.5 Minutes! Wow, some guys get it over and done with quickly. I like to take my time and enjoy the experience...

Wow! Even with a cartridge and canned goo I couldn't go that fast, and if I did my face wouldn't be feeling very nice!

Oh, and I'd like to see a stat on how much the average shaver spends on shaving equipment - we'd blow that one up too!

When I shave with my cartridge in the shower I do it in less than a minute.

Yeah, I'm definitely with you there since converting to straights. Had a bit of a breakthrough this morning, though--down to 35 minutes instead of my usual 40-45!

I've only had a straight for just over a week. When I'm in a hurry I still turn to my cartridge.
