Nice looking blade. It's a shame they didn't line up the 3rd pin ?. Moved it down a little and used a larger dia spacer.

Can't help with the honing though, it might have to go off to Lynn to get if perfect from day 1.

I assume you mean it didn't pass the tests but did you actually shave with it before you started monkeying with it? I have about 11 TIs and many of them have what appear to be uneven edges or bevels but they all shaved very very good with little or no additional honing out of the box. Its not uncommon for the edges to appear uneven with many razors. I don't know that I would have taken that razor to the 4K to try and even out the edge. I hope you didn't mess up the edge. You might have to send it to Lynn now.

No, sending it to Lynn won't be necessary.

I was just a little put off by the slight dip that's on a small section of one side of the blade. I have other razors that don't have uniform edges, but seeing it on a brand new one startled me a bit.

In any event, I put a great edge on the razor and shaved with it for the first time a few minutes ago. It worked very well.

I really love the weight of this blade. There's absolutely no pushing to do; you just let the razor do the work.

And it's really fun to strop! I had never stropped a heavy straight before -- it's so much easier.
