SRP Jacket Idea minimum order of 6
Ok here is the deal...bear with me because Im not going to have a proof made up until I get an 6 people interested. I am good friends with the guy that owns the company so I am thinking around $50 - 65 per jacket but they will be NICE...I would have a detailed proof of course.
Here is the concept:
The style would be more and logo placement would be like:
But in these colors:
Of course if you like one style better than the other we could do either one...The jacket on the top has a more traditional varsity jacket look. The jacket on the bottom has snap closures, which I like more than a zipper, but its less traditional, the jacket on the bottom is also a bit more roomy and oversized in the shoulders. I should have included a poll, but if you are interested in a jacket please let me which style you like better styel 1 (the top jacket) or style 2 (the bottom jacket) and if you prefer different colors...the color options are pretty limitless.
FRONT
Left Chest (Embroidery): (Small Logo)
Right Chest (Embroidery): Name (in white)
BACK
Top Center (Embroidery): (in white)
Middle Center (Embroidery): (Large Logo)
SLEEVES
Left Sleeve (Tackle Twill): 06
Right Sleeve (Tackle Twill): 06
I thought of 06 for the year...its not a must
What do you all think, want me to have proofs made so you can see what Im talking about or are 6 people not interested? Also once the initial order is placed it would be an open window for additional orders or other items. I think its an exciting idea
Let me know, and Lynn tell me if this is off limits please.

BTW,
Telling me you are interested in the idea is not a commitment, I just want to know if there is interest enough to get a proof drawing made. I wont hold you to it and there wont be any money due just to get a proof.

i've always thought Maroon( or Cardinal) w/ Grey was very classic and impressive
black / yellow(gold) looks nice. its pittsburgh'esque which is always a plus. not to mention its the same type of colours in the logo.
either style of jack is alright, guess i like the top choice better but not significantly more.
i don't like snaps so much. its like wearing sweat pants out in public. when i see it i wanna say "have some respect for yourself and put on some jeans", although not as "easy or comfortable" it looks nicer and is more classy. i feel the same with the zip.
have you considered a jacket such as:
1 : http://zoom.jcpenney.com/is/image/51...0&op_sharpen=1 - 35$
2: http://zoom.jcpenney.com//is/image/0...0&op_sharpen=1 -16$
just some thoughts. i like the overall idea of a jacket/shirt with SRP on it.Last edited by jscott; 07-17-2006 at 06:27 PM.

As far as the jacket design, I am open to suggestions. The only reason I picked those jackets was because they are casual enough to wear with jeans or slacks and versatile enough to wear through a few seasons and thick enough to hold embriodery well. We dont even have to go with the company I am looking at. Its just that since the owner is a family friend (usually get some sort of discount) and I have designed 3 other jackets through them I know their stuff is top notch, the owner is a former olympian and he makes the stuff for pro teams and olympic teams as well...so I know it lasts, and its very reasonably priced.
About the company (from the website), and I can vouch for it:
"We are the leading direct manufacturer of custom team athletic apparel for high schools, college, clubs and professional teams in the world. As its name implies, Boathouse Sports’ original purpose was to meet the needs of rowing teams across the country. John Strotbeck, owner and CEO established the Philadelphia-based company in 1989 and had his first experience designing outerwear while training for the Olympics. Boathouse now outfits over 7,000 teams across all sports in the US, Germany, Japan, Australia and Great Britain."
At any rate they do have some jackets similar to what you described...I guess I personally liked the more casual look better, but like I said I will go with the majority.Last edited by JLStorm; 07-17-2006 at 07:18 PM.

Here is the site with all of the jacket styles we could consider. Honestly if it were up to me I would go with true varsity wool and leather jackets, but then after customization you are looking at $200 - $300.00 USD. I wanted to keep the price under $65.00, but I was interested in sticking to that type style. Most if not all of the jackets on this page are wind and rain resistant as well, which is also why I chose this company.
Have a look around let me know if you find something you like better, or if you have a company in mind that has a style you like better, feel free to post it. Just keep in mind the minimum required, the material, and if it will be able to be used in all areas. For instance fleece is nice, but where its rainy or windy, it isnt so nice. Etc. I am not stuck on this company, just know the quality and know they do right by me...but COMPLETELY open to other options.

I'm a total and complete jacket whore (my closet is full of them and it drives my fiancee nuts sometimes). I prefer zippered jackets generally, and I am not a big fan of either color combo. I'd prefer something a bit more muted, if truth be told. I really like bold bright colors... *except* on my jackets. Those I prefer to be more greys, maroon, dark greens, dark violet, or earth tones such as khaki.
