Thanked: 114Don’t do what I did
I was trying to remove that funky smell from a new brush last night and I decided to tour the brush through all of my shaving soaps and creams. I thought it would be fun to use the opportunity to compare and contrast the different products. I was hoping that the experiment would help me narrow in on which products generate the best lather, which ones have the best longevity, which ones smell the best, which ones are better lathered in bowls vs. on the face, what’s the right amount of product to use per shave, etc., etc. I did manage to properly condition the brush in the end, but my product evaluation proved inconclusive. I really only learned one thing conclusively: lathering my face about twenty times – which felt fantastic at the time – leads to a very dry face in the morning! Ouch.

It is fun to play with our shaving toys - but yes, once a day, only, on the face seems to be the best advice. There is something satisfying about whipping up a nice rich lather.
What a wonderful hobby!

Thanked: 993This reminds me of the time that I made really hot Chilli when I was a bit younger.
I grew my own ornamental peppers, diced them up, put them in the Chilli pot, gave it a stir, and went to use the washroom while it simmered.
I was not wearing gloves when dicing the chillies.
(Insert imaginative thought here....)
Jumped in the shower rather quickly. Oh the pain.
End of story.

Thanked: 114How funny! .... I did the same exact thing at a Mexican restaurant once. Ancient Chinese proverb: When at a Mexican restaurant, wash hands both BEFORE and after using the restroom. Oh, wait a minute, maybe that was an ancient Mexican proverb ...........
