Had to use the Mach III
Fellas, for the sake of time this morning, I broke out the Gillette for a shave. Since I don't have central A/C and there's no window unit in my bathroom, I decided that a Mach III was in order because it would take less time which means less sweating in this ungodly 100+ dgree heat here in NY.
The shave wasn't that bad. You know I like my car analogies........ Using the Gillette was effective, however it was like driving to a destination in a Ford Pinto compared to a Ferrari Testarossa. They'll both get you there but the Ferrari will be an experience.
It was the first time I lathered with a badger brush and shaved with the Mach III. It was smooth and I didn't have to shower again from the perspiration dripping down my back like I had to do yesterday.
Just felt like BS-ing a little.
Cheers,
-Rob

I don't even own one of those any more. I do have an electric but it's impossible to use in the summer b/c the face is sweaty and the hair gets wet. I'd rather just skip a day. I should have done it today but I couldn't resist testing a new arrival lol.
My problem with the M3 and all of its brethren is that it gives me a 3-day case of razor burn that itches and irritates even under normal weather conditions. Imagine how it would be in summer heat as I'm sweating like a pig.

Thanked: 0Hi,
for my short business trips where I usually check hand-luggage I take a Mach3 - no comparison to my Str8 (and DE) when it comes to shaving fun, but still a reasonably close shave - albeit without any style
I find that a good stretching of the skin and a strict limit of passes over each skin area however is necessary to maintain a low irritation level - much more so than with my Str8s !
Just my 2 cents,

I refuse to use a muck3 or any other mucky razor while I have the privilege of shaving with a str8 .

Before switching to the DE, I used a Trak II for the past 20+ years. I tried all the new gimmicky razors as they came out, but always ended up back with Trak II.
Just my 2 cents.

Sometimes when you run out of time, you have to go to the dark side and stray away from the straight for a day. Its not something you necessarily want to do, but something you may have to do, to get out of the house and to work on time.
