Thanked: 983Thanks Mick, I daresay it's user error on my part with regards the DE. I do use the CT more though, so I'm more practised with that than the DE. The mach 3 lives in the wardrobe these days and is only dragged out, much against my wishes, on haircut days when the wife refuses to shave the back of the neck with anything else. She'll have to break from that once all the blades are used up though. I'm throwing it away after that.

Thanked: 1195No need to suspect, as that's exactly what happens. It's also the reason why you can get a "reasonable" shave in one pass with a Mock 3. It's also the reason why they cause so much irritation.
Unfortunately your guess isn't right this time round. DE's are actually more sensitive to pressure that a straight, due to the extremely sharp, thin & flexible (coated) blade. The main causes of irritation with a DE are too much pressure, angle and excessive skin stretching, which actually isn't as critical to a good DE shave as many would believe.
Just like any razor, a light touch with an experienced hand will lead to great shaves.
