If you shave without irritation, I can see no problems with a daily shave.
I will continue to do it for the rest of my days, that's for sureBjoernar
Um, all of them, any of them that have been in front of me over all these years....

Hi,
Due to my work, I have shaved every day since 1987 very often , if I am going out I will shave twice a day, prior to that it was just every few days. I now shave every day with a straight. if anything providing you're not getting any razor burn etc, it will probably benefit your skin.

I try to shave daily but I work long hours so I don't always get a chance.
I've started shaving in the evening now and I can usually get two days out of a shave before I look like a scruff!
I occasionally get some irritation but it's not usually that bad.
Shaving exfoliates your skin so as long as you're not getting any irritation I'd say it's more a case of getting a benefit for your skin, so shave away!

@dinatali,
Only my opinion, but I have found that I used to get a very good shave with 2 passes from a DE, WTG and XTG. I shaved with a Gillette Fusion for 5 years, with this I used to get a good shave with a single WTG pass. (sorry everyone, but IMHO the fusion is one of the best shaving systems out there, just not as much fun as old school razors)
I only shaved ATG with a safety razor once, this resulted in a mild case of razor bumps (hairs not growing out of the follicles properly), which cleared on it's own after a few days.
The straight is different, I do need at least 2 passes, 1st one WTG, all over, 2nd pass XTG on cheeks and sideburns and ATG on the throat and neck area. (I noted from Lynn's "world of straight Razor shaving" DVD, that Lynn uses the same passes)
I find that it is necessary to shave with more than 1 pass with the straight, but also that I am able to shave ATG without a problem, somehow it feels more forgiving.
I don't know if you shave ATG on your throat and neck area, but if so, you may trying staying only WTG and see if that helps.
Different strokes for different Folks (always wanted to say that) maybe.

Thanked: 983Reduce the pressure your applying to the razor. My own neck are is sensitive, but I still do two passes, WTG/ATG (Cut-Throat or DE) to get the best working shave. I will every so often do a third with the CT XTG on the neck, but I will ensure that I really concentrate on reducing pressure of the razor on my skin with all three passes if I do the this.
One thing I find about the DE that I don't have an issue with using the CT, is more frequent (But still not often) instance of ingrowing hairs. I used to get them all the time using a Mach 3 cartridge razor, but this has reduced to rare with a CT and slightly less rare with a DE.
Hopefully that information is helpful to you.

Thanked: 46I suspect the Mach 3 has a tendency to lift the hair and cut it off below skin level (I get the same problem) while the CT just takes it off flush. At a guess a DE would allow a little more pressure on the skin than a CT so it might lift the hair just a little and occasionally trim below skin level as well.
