Barbers notch why?
Is there any use for the barbers notch/ How was it named?

I wouldn't take this as gospel but so the story goes that barbers used it to map out blemishes on the face they didn't want to pass the blade over while giving a shave. Is this the truth or an old barbers tale? Its up for you to decide.

Thanked: 1Best regards to most... and happy trails. Time to migrate. I may start something on my own site.

Seeing as I'm not at the skill level where I have the razor flying all over my face with one hand when I shave, I will, on some areas, brace the other end of the razor with my free hand to add a bit more control. Perhaps the barbers notch is there for similar reasons?

It's a mystery. Anybody buy that barbershop documentary, maybe they discuss it?

I like using them because they get up under my nose really well. I have a moustache and this type of razor seems to work well for me.
