Again, that would depend on how you did it. Just sticking in you back pocket on it's own? Probably gonna get questioned about that. In a kit with all the rest of the gear, not so much.

I also mentioned that a straight razor can be used for surgery if needed, and you can use it to shave the area to prep.

someone linked to this: CountyComm - Pocket Straight Razor Survival Tool and way at the bottom, there is a disclaimer that says, "We will not knowingly ship to locations where straight razors are prohibited," implying that they are prohibited in some locales.

    Where are they illegal?
    A lot of places.
They are illegal to carry much the same as any knife with a blade of
equal length. Some places specify razors specifically. It can also
qualify as a concealed weapon so do not slip one in your boot.

I know of no place where they are illegal in the "shave den" (home).

ok, that makes more sense... I was thinking places that like to make everything illegal just because some people use them wrongly.

I have to have stuff shipped, mainly by Aramex. They sometimes send me messages that the shipment has items that are prohibited in the country (Qatar) that I'm shipping to. They (Aramex) class the razor as a Knife. I have had the argument a couple of times, that a) It's not a Knife, and b) that you can purchase knives here, quite legally in any number of stores. I have managed to obtain the shipments each time, but I'm sure that sooner or later I'll lose one (they destroy the item).

I have never had a problem with the authorities here, it is just Aramex, playing it safe.

Serious? I mean, people have access to guns, explosives, survival knives, etc.
How is a straight razor going to be an issue?

I carry mine daily, but then I'm active duty military, maybe you meant a civilian shouldn't go into a military installation with one.......that makes more sense!

I've travelled internationally multiple times with a straight and strop kit. I've found the "We was here" papers lots of times. I had a lighter confiscated once from locked checked luggage by an over officious type. They ignored the razor and a half dozen knives in the bag. Go figure.
