Thread: Somehow this just doesn't seem right

I found this article published on May 14, 2010 and was initially struck by how wrong the picture accompanying the article looked. I wonder how much the author was paid by Schick and/or Gillette to write this ad.

The writer probably never shaved with a open bladed razor in his whole life. These people who want to endorse gillete or schick, I say let em. If men want to believe these writers, again, let em. More (straights, hones and other equipment) for us.

Yes, I have horrifying news for all you guys. You have all been duped into buying all this shaving paraphernalia and straights when the best shaves in the world can be had with this new contraption.

Now I'm going to write to Lynn and tell him to shut this site down and start a new one and name it "modern shaving place".

I for one would be humiliated to post a picture of me (especially if I worked for T&H) being shaved with a tampon applicator. My man parts have begun to shrivel at the very sight of that abomination

Yeah, and that's why my face was sore and irritated with a multi blade POS, and now it's silky smooth and closely shaved with the straight, because the multi blade is better...

I'll just file this article under "whatever" and leave it at that.

this is not a journalistically reliable article. I submit the following quote as proof:

A recent Schick-funded poll, echoing the findings of less biased studies, found most Canadian women are more likely to get jiggy with clean-shaven men than those who aren’t.

At least they admit the poll was biased. But relying on a biased poll = bad journalism. Using the phrase "get jiggy with" = bad journalism.

I also submit as proof the lack of pain when using a straight razor compared to a 3blade cartridge.

A funded poll, a funded article and a funded barber. What other opinion can there be.
