Default What about this for storage?

Looking for storage for straight razors. Anyone have any opinion or currently use a roll? (Gary I'm especially looking for your input.)

Do you have one of these? I'm wondering if the compartments are big enough for a razor.

There's this guy on Ebay that occasionally sells leather scissors holders for about this price. They work.

That is an amazing idea. Something simple you can possibly make as well. I would not mind looking for some fabric and making my own for travelling. But I would have oneo r two spots for razors, while it has alternate spots for your brush and maybe a cry soap cake and brush to be placed in.

????? I've been using rolls for a long time, now. I've got three very large rolls with about 80 compartments each and I've got two shaving rolls, one holding ten and one holding 8 razors. Those are my regular shavers.

Rolls are very easy to make for anyone so inclined. Canvas or denim works fine.

True. When I cut old jeans into shorts, I sometimes make the legs into "rolls" for bike tools and the like. Cut large rectangles, set on the table with a long edge closest to you. Pick up that edge and fold it upward, not quite meeting the upper long edge (leave an inch or two). Sew the sides and a series of vertical lines, creating a row of pockets.

If you cut the legs properly, you can fold it upward on a side-seam; that is, the seam becomes the bottom of the pockets.

Joe I read that leather may be bad for the razor (I'm assuming the scales) due to "acids". I'll try to find out where I read it. I think a straight razor book. Anyone else heard that?

I think that would have to depend on the material of the scales. Many TI razors come with a leather case.

As a fountain pen collector I tried one of my pen rolls, only slim razors like Gotta or similar just fit so too much of a risk.

I reckon light canvas backing with soft fabric inner and sewn to suit would be fine. Should be able to knock something up on a sewing machine very quickly. Well my daughter could...not me.
