My wife and I had an overnight double date with my best friend and his wife this past weekend - shopping and dinner on Michigan Ave. in Chicago. I was really looking forward to checking out the Truefitt & Hill store - unfortunately I was very disappointed. The T&H products are there, along with a pretty decent (but I wouldn't call it "great") selection of other brands, but the store itself was the problem. It was very small, which is OK, but it was not user friendly. I was little more than a storefront, with most of the products behind a counter, and you had to ask for them. They did have the T&H products on display so you could smell them, but I like to wander through and touch product, read boxes, and the like. They did not have the sample packs for sale, either. One of the workers said they made up samples from the tester products - I asked for a sample of the preshave oil - she spilled most of it trying to get it into the container and I ended up with 2 drops and an oily shopping bag. I did go home with a tub of Trafalgar shave cream, and it was good to be able to smell all the choices before I bought, but I really did not enjoy the experience as much as I thought I would. I must say that even though I prefer the T&H line of products, I enjoy the Art of Shaving store more - the layout is better and more conducive to the touching and reading boxes thing I mention above. Anyone else been there and can comment?
