"Safety" - you keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means
Once again an intrepid shaver straddles the fine line between courage and insanity. Good luck with the shave... it's been nice knowing you!

I am going to revive an old thread!
Long story short I went for lunch at a place that had a line outside. I wasn't going to wait..... driving around semi aimlessly I came across White Castle #8 which now houses an antique store. Inside I came across one of these Collins razors. What fun!
Only one blade but the mechanism works. A little gunky or whatever at first but after playing with it and exercising it is getting interesting. I have found a speed of 20 to 21 RPM depending on how hard the spring is wound. I read that they spin slow but have no idea what is "normal".
It is not a spinning wheel of death as I have seen mentioned and if I can figure out how to get a "sharp" blade and it lubed up properly I would like to give it a go.
I would post pics but the ones previous are better than mine and mine has more of the silver plating wore off.
With the plating wore off I would think that it has been used.....Last edited by 32t; 12-31-2016 at 11:48 PM. Reason: 21 not 25 LOL

Thanked: 66Thank you for reviving my old thread, and my reference of 'Spinning wheel of death' was just for fun.
These things seem to be super rare, when I originally posted this a google search would only turn up a few photos and no information, I just did another google search and happy to see a few more videos and forum posts.
Enjoy it, unfortunately I sold mine off years ago.Last edited by sidmind; 01-01-2017 at 12:16 AM.
