Default Heading to Scotland, where to shop??

Well, I'm heading off to Scotland in a few weeks.

I'll be in the area of Dundee.

Does anybody know any good spots to shop for razors, soaps ect???

    Thanks guys!

I'd love to meet up with someone.

If there's anyone in the area that would like to get together, let me know as well.

Not offhand, but if you cross the Tay into Fife, please carry on down into St Andrews and have a pint at the Whey Pat for me. Some of my best times as a postgrad were spent in the back room there! I especially recommend their guest ale. Doesn't matter what it is - it will be good.

Actually a quick google search found this which looks like it may have potential: Buy male grooming products & shaving products from The Gentlemans Groom Room
Looks like they are right downtown just off the high street by the Overgate so it will be very easy to get to. Easy walk from the train & bus stations if that's how you're getting around.

Dundee used to have a pretty bad reputation, but while I was in the UK (ca. 96-2003) they did a lot to rejuvenate a lot of the centre. Hopefully that has continued.

Anyway, if you're in need of any other Scottish recommendations, let me know! After six years as a postgrad there, I got to know quite a bit of the country pretty well.

It was in original condition, faded red, well-worn, but nice.
This was and still is my favorite combination; beautiful, original, and worn.

Shop anywhere they sell scotch or straight razors. If you find a place that sells both, I'm moving to Scotland.
BTW, you're an ass. I've been to the damn country twice for a total of about 8ish hours.
If you decide to bring back a bottle, let me know, I'd be more than happy to help you finish it

And just because I think of this *wonderful* performance of what is commonly held to be the worst poem in the English language whenever anyone mentions Dundee...

Wow, that was a terrible poem..

Thanks for the info. I will surely try to find that pub.

And Brooksie, this is my second time there.....I was only there for 8 days the first time. They brought us home early so that they could ship us off to Italy.

This time it's almost 3 weeks in Scotland.

That is more than enough time to befriend a few locals and find all the 'good spots'.

I can't say as I feel sorry for your 8 day stay that was cut short! Again, damn you.

Cant wait to go back. I loved it there, beautiful countryside and phenomenal pubs.

Well, I hope you find some good buys! Don't be afraid to think about me while you're over there if you see some antiques! I'm looking for something shoulderless $40 limit
