I'm up to almost full time, but if I'm in a rush in the morning, I might go with something else. Never an electric, but a Mach 3 or something. Actually, for a month or two now, though, I haven't had any disposables in the house, so I haven't had a choice.

I've been using a straight razor every day (or at least for every shave) since about, hmmm, 1979. I guess that qualifies me as a full timer. lol

If you're learning to use a straight, I do think consistent practice is important. IMHO once or twice a week isn’t going to cut it (assuming you shave 5 or so times a week).

That is of course assuming that you actually CAN shave more than twice a week.
I can do 3 shaves max, simply because my facial hair does not grow faster (for which I am very grateful)

I shave up to 2 times a day sometimes (depending on what grade of smooth I want for what occassion)

Since I started straight shaving about 2 or 3 months ago, I used my Merkur DE razor occasionally to begin with on days when I had nasty razor burn or lots of nicks that needed a bit of time to heal. But since I started getting consistant shaves with the straight I just haven't had any inclination to use a DE.

I gave away 2 or 3 DE razors that I had in my collection, and kept only my Merkur Slantbar DE and 50 or so blades. I thought it would be good to keep a DE in the armoury for travelling etc, just in case. Plus it's handy if I ever need to lend it to a mate stopping by overnight, as I can just put a fresh blade in and not worry about sterilising anything.

But in the main I plan to use straights exclusively from now on, I just enjoy using them so much more - and the shave quality I'm getting is far superior to anything else I used before.

I have shaved with a straight soley for 25yrs now, though on and off for a few years prior. Fasination for shaving starts with those first sprouts and just begs for experimentation with removal methods.
My father shaved with a straight all his adult life so I was used to seeing them being used. This was why I tried sr's first, readily available on the bathroom shelf. A few accidents later forced me to try other methods but I always came back to straights. To shave any other way now would seem very and alien. It is only recent months that the desire for collecting has taken hold which adds a new dimension practice.

I've been exclusively shaving with a str8 since March. Prior to that, I used an electric and one of those plastic multi blade contraptions.

Just starting. Use SR whenever I can.
