My beard configuration thingy is pretty much back to where it was before I started (i.e. shaved it off). My heart goes out to Pyratenight and Unit as two who have made great sacrifices. I think it takes balls to shave such extraordinary moustaches, and balls to grow one and walk around in public with one in the first place, well done!

    Yo Carl!!

I hope she has a lot of film!!! JK!! Heck, yours is looking a darn site better than mine, maybe I'll try the black and white option. But, since my mo is mostly grey, that might cancel it out all together. I was going to have my son take a couple pictures today but forgot. To top it off, I thought I'd do a little shaping with a straight to make it more narrow. After starting, I realised that was a mistake, but, kinda hard to uncut things. Now I look like my brother in regards to the small bare strip betwixt the nose and top of mo. He does it in the summer so his dive mask will seal.

Anyhow, this event succeeded at least in bring male cancer to the light, and letting it be a subject that you could talk to your son about. That's often the start of a cruel killer, like cancer's, demise; being brought from the shadows and into the light; and having people that are no longer afraid to speak of it.

Take care Carl, you be lookin' fine!! I'll catch ya later, Don

Yeah, exactly! I don't trim the top part, I've seen too many people who look like weirdos with the overdoing of the trimming thing. I must admit I'm rather more adroit at trimming the grey hairs than the non-grey hairs. My twin brother is all grey, but I keep hanging in there...It's a battle, though, Don, it's a battle...

I have a theory, that grey hairs grow faster than coloured hairs. I began to notice that they were the first to become visible. Within an established mo, they tend to overtake the coloured hairs and grow past them. This last go round, starting from skin level, it seems as if they have taken over my mo almost completely. In a month or two, the colour will darken a bit as the slacker hairs catch up. With an established mo, I would take a narrow spike point that I have, weave it into position on a long grey one, and pop it off. Good practice and a good way to check sharpness!! Anyway, I asked the barber up town if he noticed any difference in growth with grey hairs, he said he agreed, but me thinks, as long as I pay him, he'll agree with most anything I say. Do me a favor, if you run across a barber, ask them. I'd like to prove my theory.

I also have some shaky photographic proof. We have a TV show here called Duck Dynasty, about a family of duck hunters rednecks that made it big selling duck calls. The guys in the show all have beards. I noticed that "Uncle Silus" has a beard that has more grey on one side than the other, and the grey side is longer than the other. See what you think, Si is the guy second from the right. This whole subject probably proves, I need to get out of the house more! lol!

Well, one can't argue with photographic evidence. I like the idea of using the razor, normally I use scissors; and cheap ones at that. I did buy some Carl Monkhouse carbon steel scissors but I've never sharpened them; and afraid I'll wreck my hone and really have no idea how to do it...

    Default Movember 2012!!!

I'm happy I did get the donations I received. And, I was able to start a few conversations about men's health. So, I feel I made a contribution to the cause. I think I learned a few things and hope to be better prepared for next Movember!

Sorry about the double post, cockpit error. But, it does give me a chance to point out something. In this pic, you can see I tried to trim the top of the Mo, yeah, not gonna do that again, I'll just let it find it's happy place.

    G'day all, donv
