Using the SR full time.

Just out of interest, how many of you use a SR all the time (i.e. every single shave), and how many of you only use it sometimes?

I use it for every shave, I think it's the only way i will learn how to use it properly.

Until a couple of months ago I had been using the DE on mornings when I was seriously short on time - maybe once a month or so. But my skill with the DE has deteriorated and my ability with the straight has improved to the point that I don't even bother with the DE anymore.

If you're learning to use a straight, I do think consistent practice is important. IMHO once or twice a week isn’t going to cut it (assuming you shave 5 or so times a week).

I went with "Every now and then" because I'm about 50-50. I still enjoy my DE razors and like the variety.

On occasion, usually when I'm sick and don't want to get myself wet any more/longer than necessary or I get a really bad nick, I use the electric but those occasions are so rare, that it's safe to say that I'm a full-timer.

I have been using only a straight on my face since September, I think. However, often I'd skip a week or so between shaves, so it's not that much...

Most shaves for me now. I got a couple of DEs to dabble with recently, and have used them most recently. I will say that I have enjoyed returning to a straight afterwards though!

When in a hurry I'm afraid to admit I stray and use a double blade.

I always use a SR for every shave, but I do clean up with a DE after I finish my initial 2 passes with the SR. I get a little crazy about the BBS shave sometimes, but I just love how it feels.
