I never been a fan of razors that have a large pull to them primarily from my sanding jig that uses 3 rare earth magnets, & has enough power to sometimes turn a razor into a refrigerator magnet. I use a demagnetizer I liberated from work. A swipe or two across the spine and it renderes it negatively charged.

The above cases are mine, and Yes I use hooks on the toe end.
I cannot see how a razor can have any negitive effect from a weak amt of magnitism.
Try this. With a very fine needle file, create some steel dust.De-grease a razor,Rub the spine over a strop (hard) about 50 times,Until it gets warm,it will pick up the file dust.
I think any time you hone or strop you get a small amt of magnitism.

I agree. I cannot see good or bad from magnetism...I'm not sure it is actually possible to get a razor totally devoid of any magnetism (if you have a sensitive enough means of gauging it)...sort of splitting hairs here. Never the less, it could be used as a marketing ploy...some guys will believe interesting things if you toss out the right big words and have some clever demonstration.

That said, I think I'd get rather annoyed with a razor that snaps the steel dog tag chain up off my chest

My dad paid HUGE money for a mattress with magnets in it for its reported healing abilities...marketing a magnetic razor seems like child's play next to that

Oh (forehead slap) the fuel line magnet is a MUCH better example than mine!

    Sorry for the thread drift.

I dig those cases though. The magnet tail holder is a great solution

Razors definitely get magnetized. I see it again and again when I use a magnetic sanding jig. It seems to wear off fairly quickly though. None of them would have stayed on the refrigerator for very long. Having them hang on a magnetic year in and year out might make them more magnetic.

Then again, as stated earlier, does it matter if a razor is magnetic? Just make sure your son/nephew/younger brother with braces doesn't use it! His mother would never forgive you.
