Thanked: 0It really does depend on what sort of travel you're doing - if it's a suit case, cab from the airport kinda winding down affair, or if it's a live out of your back pack, tackle the wilds of Borneo adventure... In saying that, I take one of the little travel eShave kits (TSA approved) away with me and I bought a nice little strop on the 'bay (only about 6" long), I've got a small wet pack to fit this and 2 -3 of my razors in so it's all together and compact. I'm only new to SRS but after taking this kit to work at the floods down here (sleeping on floors in cots in emergency centres, lots of moving about and deploying to new areas etc), I was still able to to fit in a nice shave of a day which made things a lot more bearable - and it took up only a little more space really than a can of goop and a bic!!!

I travel often for both business and pleasure (I'm actually in Vegas for business right now), and my solution is a large DOPP kit with my Merkur DE, DOVO shavette, VDH shaving mug, T&H preshave oil, a tube of C.O. Bigelow shave cream (alternately T&H tubes), and TOBS bay rum splash and T&H balm. Not exactly a bare bones kit, but it works well for me. I'm a pilot so I don't have to worry about restrictions, but putting your blades in your checked baggage, whether disposable or straight, allows you to be TSA compliant. Only cartridges are allowed on carry-ons unfortunately.

do you think that I will get past TSA with a double edge razor hidden in my carry on? do you think that they will take my empty DE because they're thieves ( some of them!) and like to take whatever they can get their hands on?

Gentlemen,
When flying, I take my wet pack complete with everything I need — straight razor, DE and blade backup, soap stick, travel brush in tube, etc. The wet pack and my small Illinois travel strop are checked in my suitcase.

I did it up and it wasnt that much more space, pretty much demoted shampoo and conditioner and pit stick out of the shave kit. I figured its two weeks screw it!!!
Right to left. Toothpasted/tooth brush in travel case. Small strop, small neets foot oil, Brush, Probasso(Comes in a bowl to lather) after shave balm(Body shop) sponge, then cheapest razor with another travel case for it!
Cheers boys!
